MAT 0024C 3 Credit Hours (3, 1)
Prep Math |
This college preparatory course is designed to prepare
students for MAT 0033,
Intermediate Algebra. Topics include sets; computations with decimals , percents,
and
integers; operations with rational and polynomial expressions; solving linear
equations
and expressions ; plane geometry figures and applications; graphing ordered pairs
and
lines ; and determining the intercepts of lines . A minimum grade of C is required
for
successful completion of this course. This course does not apply towards
mathematics
requirements in general education or toward any associate degree.
Course Objectives:
MAT 0024C is an introductory mathematics course that integrates a review of
basic arithmetic skills with basic algebraic concepts. You will develop a
mathematics
vocabulary and will use it in communication both oral and written. You will also
become an effective problem solver using algebraic techniques, graphical
techniques,
and technology.
