Math 96 Homework
The following is a list of homework problems. It may be
necessary for you to do additional problems
in sections that are difficult for you. It is also expected that you read each
section covered on your
own and watch the DVD lectures for additional instruction if needed or if you
miss a class. Quiz work
with corrections shown and attached corresponding homework also with corrections
shown will be
collected during the next class following the quiz due date unless it is a
review day. In that case, turn it
in on the test day. Work done daily and completely will make test preparation
significantly easier.
Keep up with your assignments and do some review work 3-4 times per week!

Proper review for tests is important to success in math. The daily work that
you have done will be very helpful in
this process. The more practice that you have before test day, the more
confidence you will have on the test.
Here are some suggestions on how to review for your exams:
1. Create review (flash) cards from each homework assignment (one of each type
of problem). Randomly select and
do a few review cards 3-4 times per week and check your answers. Put an X on the
front of the card if wrong and a
check if correct.
2. Review all homework problems. Mark and rework those with which you had
trouble.
3. Review all terms and procedures .
4. There will be writing questions on the test. All writing questions must be
answered with complete sentences and
correct mathematical terminology.
5. Review all quiz problems and redo those problems that you got wrong.
6. Review all handouts.
7. Work through all review assigned exercises from Chapter Reviews and Chapter
Tests. If you have difficulty with
any concept, try to find a similar problem on the chapter test. Watch the
solution of that problem on the Test Prep
Video.
8. Calculators may or may not be allowed on an exam, so be prepared not to be
able to use them.
9. Use instructor office hours, peer tutoring and the Math Center to get
individual help weekly.
